This company actually developed memory foam for NASA space mission, but the mattress foam is a way different animal from the original foam. However, these top end mattresses can cost up to $10,000.
If you go to a mattress company, most quality mattresses run between $2,000 and $3,000 . Our reviewer wondered if some to these mattresses had springs made of precious metals,
Of course, the sales people give you the usual BS, too. One said the Swedish memory foam mattress didn't have the visco foam formula patented, because it didn't want the other manufactures to peek at the formula.
This is untrue. The visco foam formula has been patented and that is one of the reasons these mattresses are so overpriced.
We found another company that had mattresses that are equivalent to the top ranked mattress. These are made by the Original Mattress Factory and they cost about one third of the price to the top rated mattress.
Unfortunately, my wife and would have had to drive to central Florida to try one of these mattresses out. The company, did deliver to county we live in.
Costo NovaForm®
My wife and I settled on a Costco mattress, the NovaForm® Pure Comfort. My wife and I liked the price which we ordered form the Costco catalogue. The local Costco store said if there were any problems with the catalogue order, we could return the mattress to the it.
Due to a credit card SNAFU, we received two mattresses instead of one and had to return one. The store manager kept the store open an extra 40 minutes for the return.
This is what I call service! My wife and I will be Costco customers for life.
We had to order the mattress on-line because we had a California King box spring base rather than a standard or Eastern King.
Most mattress retailers will insist you purchase both the mattress and the box springs if you want a warrantee. Without, the warrantee, you would not be able to return the mattress if you are dissatisfied with it.
