Rightardia has been looking for a Linux grammar checker for a long time. We will run "After the Deadline" through the paces in Open Office to see how it works. "After the Deadline" also has an add on for Firefox.
We also found a brand new grammar checker extension for the Thunderbird email client that has good reviews:

Update
Rightardia didn't have much luck with After the Deadline in Open Office or Firefox. It was slow in FireFox and would provide a message back about the time we were ready to close the browser.
It also caused Open Office to abruptly close. Eventually we had to manually delete Open Office in the home folder and perform an uninstall/reinstall to get the Open Office Writer to load.
We uninstalled After the Deadline and installed Language Tool, Open Source Language Checker, version 1.2 in Open Office. it is working and provides a grammar checking function.
