The Tories are trying to bolster up private health care in the UK to make the National health Care System (NHS) "more competitive. If the Tories looked at the US, there would know private health care US style isn't competitive.
US health care costs twice as much as health care in the other OECD countries. Essentially private enterprise health care in the US has developed into an unregulated private monopoly.
