Those Decepticon Republicans

Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons
f
The Decepticons are usually depicted as the antagonists in the fictional universes of the Transformers toyline , and related comics and cartoons, and the enemies of the Autobots. The villains take many forms, and have many different origins and stories across the numerous different Transformers media.  In almost all incarnations, they are led by Megatron.

They are typically represented by the purple facial insignia they all wear. Decepticons have red eyes, while Autobots have blue eyes.

The GOP congress has been taken over by Decipticons who have been programmed to seek ideological solutions to America's problems.

First, the Bush recession that started in December 2007 was caused by private enterprise and related deregulation efforts mainly pushed by the GOP. Yes, there was some culpability on the part of Blue Dogs and President Clinton. but the Bush administration led us into the Great Recession.

The facts are indisputable. Certainly Republicans are entitled to their own opinion, but as Laurence O'Donnell has stated, they are not entitled to their owns facts. Facts are facts regardless of the distortions one will find on Conservapedia, Fox News or Talk Radio.

Does Social Security or Medicare have anything to do with the economic downturn? Not really, most economists believe the excess defense spending on wars since world War 2 has caused most of the deficit.

The government has actually used excess Social Security funds to fund government programs for years.

Social Security is easy to fix, and most of the funding shortfalls relate to the regressive nature of the FICA part of the Social Security tax.

Do government workers have anything to do with the recession. Again, the GOP is trying to scapegoat government workers whose jobs  have nothing to do with the recession.

FactCheck looked into government pay and found that government workers were not making twice what their corporate counterparts make. They also found out that government workers are three times as educated as their corporate counterparts.

Tweaking Social Security, Medicare or government worker's salaries and benefits won't pull us out of the Great Recession. These are just Decepticon anti-government tactics.

The Democratic Autobots are much more honest about the real nature of America's economic problems.
