Men, however, should also take note of HPV. New research shows oral sex can raise throat and mouth cancer risk for both sexes, due to the spread of HPV.
For people who've enjoyed a high number of oral sex partners, the risk of developing throat or mouth cancer is greater than for smokers or drinkers.
There are more than 100 strains of HPV, making it the most common sexually transmitted virus in the world.The oral sex findings could lead to further research of HPV in men and the development of new HPV vaccines.
