NMA: Chelsea Clinton wants an annulment?

February 5, 2011 2:01 am
The National Enquirer reports reports that Chelsea Clinton wants to annul her marriage,

Husband Marc Mezvinsky recently quit his banking job to become a ski bum in Wyoming.

The National Enquirer reports the Chelsea and Marc fought because Chelsea wants to start a family.

Indeed, at Davos last week, Bill Clinton said he hoped to be a grandfather. The old president said Hilary Clinton wanted to be a grandmother more than she wanted to be president.

Chelsea and Marc married last summer in a fairytale wedding that cost US$5 million.

Now that her marriage may be in trouble, will Chelsea be portrayed as a strong, resilient woman or be mocked for falling into the same trap as her mother?

I'm learning so much from this thread... I just have a couple of questions and i hope you dont mind because they're pretty mundane (not to me though) - how long do annulment proceedings normally take? are we looking at months? years? is there a way to get it done fast? how much do these proceedings cost? What about getting a lawyer?

The law varies by state. I would start by checking with the country court house to see if you can file papers without an attorney. If both parties want this, its should be relatively simple.

it's a lot easier than a divorce.

See http://www.legalzoom.com/marriage-divorce-family-law/divorce/whats-legal-difference-between

It's possible that Legal Zoom could help you depending on the state you live in.

In the hyper-linked article, a woman had been married three years and had a baby and was able to get an annulment when she discovered her husband was a big time Pedo Bear.
