Israel offered East Jerusalem by Palestinian Authority

The unprecedented offer by the Palestian Authority came in a June 15 trilateral meeting in Jerusalem, involving Condoleezza Rice, the then-US secretary of state. Tzipi Livni, the then-Israeli foreign minister, Ahmed Qurei, PA's former prime minister, and Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator also attended the meeting.

Israel also rejected a lucrative offer from the US for a temporary construction freeze: The White House pledged to provide Israel with unidentified missile systems, the Joint Strike Fighter, missile defense batteries and satellites. It's clear that Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu has no real interest in peace.

Why should it? The US provides $3 billion in miliatry aid every year and half of the state departments foreign aid also goes to Israel.

After years of negotiation, the United States and Israel announced in August 2010 that Israel will be allowed to "purchase" our top line fighter aircraft: 20 F-35s at a cost of $2.75 billion,

This will be paid for entirely with US Foreign Military Assistance (FMF) grants. These aircraft will be provided courtesy of the US taxpayer.

A long as a Cold War exists between Israel and other middle eastern countries, the US will continue to provide billions in foreign and military aid. Peace would upset the Golden Goose for Israel.
