Data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday suggests Americans made less money in 2009 than in 2008. Jesse Russell reports.
Compensation was down by 3.2 percent in 2009 form the previous year. The report signaled out declines in construction and manufacturing as the big reasons.
The hardest hit county in the country was St. Louis County which saw a decline of 11.5 percent.
Those Americans who were able to hang onto a job saw an average pay increase of 1.2 percent.
