Sometimes you're the hammer and sometimes the nail

Tom Delay, was the former U.S. House majority leader whose name became synonymous with the Republicans controversial rise to power in the Texas House. 

He was found guilty today of laundering money in connection with the 2002 elections.

Jurors sent a note on yellow legal paper that a verdict had been reached to the judge at round 5 pm on 11/24/2010. They had deliberated since Monday afternoon.

Dely was accused of funneling money from the RNC into the Texas elections. 

Delay was charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

He faces a possible sentence of 5-99 years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine on the money laundering charge, and 2-20 years in prison and a possible $10,000 fine on the conspiracy charge.

 Better times for Tom Delay on DWTS

Delay was one of the celebrities on dancing with the Stars last season. His partner was Cheryl Burke.

He was the first conservative on the show who could dance well.  He was really a better dancer than Bristol Palin and lasted mid-season, although he was one of the oldest dancers.

A memorable dance with had Delay dressed in red and Burke dressed in blue dancing to "Why can't we be Friends."

Now that was a political statement!
