Virginia Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is retiring her title as head of Liberty Central, a conservative group with Tea Party ties.
"She'll take a back seat so that Liberty Central can continue with its mission without any of the distractions," the group's spokeswoman Caitlin Carroll told the Washington Post Monday. "After discussing it with the board, Mrs. Thomas determined that it was best for the organization."
Mrs. Thomas recently called Barack Obama "a tyrant." A recent New York Times profile detailed the potential conflict of interest in her political activism and her husband's professional responsibility -- the financial backing of Thomas' group has also raised questions.
Funded primarily by two secret donors, whose identities were concealed by new practices set forth in the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision, Thomas'group was immediately injected with more than half-a-million dollars, which propelled it to the forefront of conservative activism.
This was not without significant concern that the anonymous status of Liberty Centrals benefactors could potentially complicate future rulings by Justice Thomas.
All political controversy aside, Thomas also attracted attention last month when she contacted Anita Hill, the woman who accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment during his Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
McEwen did not testify back in 1991. She simply wasn't asked to testify. McEwen said:
He (Thomas) was obsessed with porn. He would talk about what he had seen in magazines and films, if there was something worth noting.

Mrs. Thomas asked Hill to apologize. it is likely that Mrs. Thomas was aware that an old girl friend of her husband was publishing a book that indicated Clarence Thomas was a very kinky boy, the kind you don't take home to momma.
Lillian McEwen
Lillian McEwen agreed to speak about Clarence Thomas with Washington Post reporter, whose story quotes her as saying that Thomas was "always actively watching the women he worked with to see if they could be potential partners. It was a hobby of his."McEwen did not testify back in 1991. She simply wasn't asked to testify. McEwen said:
