Palm Parbor Pep Talk by Dan Gelber and Tom McKone

Rightardia got to meet two of the Democratic candidates today: Dan Gelber and Tom McKone.   Dan Gelber is the Democratic candidate for Florida attorney general. Tom McKone is running for the District 48 state house job.

Prior to Gelbers' arrival, Middle Class Warrior (MCW)  met with local Democratic volunteers and Tom McKone. McKone is fighting an uphill battle against a Republican rival who has been in office for several years.

McKone is chairman of the East Lake Special Fire District, and president of a health care recruitment company. He finds jobs for medical professionals every day.

McKone is an active members of his church and MCW's wife recognized him as a member of a well known Christian religious organization. McKone has been married for 37 years.

McKone wants to bring back good government back to Florida after 12 years of GOP rule. We wish him luck. Florida needs more Democratic leaders like him in the Statehouse.

Dan Gelber showed up at the Witch's Brew in downtown Palm Harbor at around 4 pm. He is very concerned about the state elections and believes the race for governor will be close. He encouraged the volunteers to make a difference by getting the Democratic vote out.

Rightardia agrees with Gelber that the Republicans have run the state poorly which is why Florida unemployment is one of the highest in the US.

Rightardia has wondered why the Democratic Party didn't run an anti-incumbent playbook in the midterms? The Florida Democratic Party let Rick Scott get away with the bogus claim that Obama was responsible for  the Florida economy.

Dan Gelber, State Attorney general candidate
Rightardia was very impressed with Gelber's credentials  in the primary and gave him one of our first endorsements. He pointed out his opponent, Buffy Bondi, is a legal analyst for Fox news who has little experience in civil litigation which is a big part of a state's attorney's job.

Gelber is very articulate and fit. He will make a great attorney general, particularly if the unthinkable were to happen to the governor's office.

Gelber had an interesting anecdote about Marco Rubio when he was speaker of the house. Rubio cut offf a Democratic speaker which is against House rules. the Democrats retaliated by insisting a 1700 page bill be read aloud.

Rubio disconnected the  Internet in the house chamber and had the cameras tuned off and went into a rage. The Democrats finished reading the bill at 3am the next day.

Gelber refereed to rick Scott as a putative defendant. A putative defendant is one against whom the government already possesses incriminating evidence at the time of his appearance before a tribunal.

Republicans referred to Scott as an unindicted coconspirator during the primary regarding the (Coumbia) HCA Medicare fraud.

Scott also took the Fifth amendment 75 times during another deposition for his new company, Solantic. Gelber pointed out that the Fifth amendment can only be taken when you would incriminate yourself. It can not be used to shield a business or an associate.
