The party of the lowest common denominator

It is clear that the GOp has two wings: the highs and the lows. The RNC graphic that follows even admits it"

The highs are the "have mores" or the in-crowd that was Bush's base. They are the people who run the party and manipulate the lows.

The lows are the lowest common denominator and even lower. They are white and religious. Rightardia has described many of them as High School Harries and Harriets. They are the true believers who generally lack and understanding of US history.

These impressionable people are easy for the GOP to manipulate. They are the Joe and Josephine the Plumbers.

These people confuse religion and morality. Pastor Jones is a good example. Extremists who were Islamic did, indeed, attack the Twin Towers. This was after years of US meddling  and its disastrous US foreign policy in the middle east.

In the past "Fortress America" has been invulnerable to payback because we are surrounded by two oceans and friendly neighbors to the north and south.

While the US lost less than a half million men and women in World War 2, the Russians lost nearly 9 million men under arms and another 50 million civilian causalities. Perhaps if the US understood the real cost of war, we would be less belligerent in the international arena.

Many conservative Christians are still emotional about the Twin Towers, but have little sympathy for the Iraqis who were killed in the two Iraq Wars. Many Iraqi children are still suffering psychological damage from the war.

Our own troops are returning home with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the overall cost of the last Iraq War will be more than $ 1 trillion because of veteran costs.

Are these Christian conservatives lamenting the loss of life in Iraq because the US provoked a war.? Hardly.

Many non-believers have a better understanding of the causes and effects of war than the zealous conservative Christians who thought it was just another Great Crusade.

it is clear that Pastor Jones didn't have a good grasp of what has been going on the Middle East since World War 2 or he wouldn't have made a fool of himself by threatening to turn Qurans. Rightardia suspects he got an education from some of the Islamic clerics.
