Mistakes that Obama made

 
It's not over until the Fat Lady sings,  but the 2010 elections are around the corner. Here are some of the things that Obama could have done better: 

1. The health care reform went on for nearly a year. This took a lot of energy out of party activists. The Democrats should have steam rolled health care with a budget reconciliation much earlier on.

2. The desire for bipartisanship was a waste of time. I think Nancy Pelosi knew this, but Obama did not catch on for several months.

3. A more charismatic person is needed to to be the White House press secretary than Robert Gibbs.  He creates Pillsbury Dough Boy image of Democrats.

4.  Organizing for America (OFA), the Obama Political Organization, went to sleep after the election. Obama should have kept it humming along between the elections.

5. Obama needs to use the bully pulpit more effectively and to energize his Democratic base. This will be his latest leadership challenge.
