president has its perks: you're often first in line to appreciate and
approve your nation's latest military technology.
On Thursday, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was given a tour at a training ground
in the Moscow region. The president was then shown the multi-role
machines in action - they demonstrated how personnel and weapons could
be transported.
Military experts also told him that the vehicles are
equipped with powerful U.S.-made engines and Vehciles such as the GAZ 2975 "Tiger" have been assigned only to
special security units, not to the armed forces. This vehicle is sometimes referred to as the Russian Humvee.
Dmitry Medvedev sat
inside the new vehicles, before being given the chance to fire a rare
World War 2 machine gun.
