Conservatives attacking conservatives

John Ziegler, a defender of Sarah Palin against all media criticism, has turned on conservative politicos.

In his movie "Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted," Ziegler went after the mainstream media for perceived liberal bias and slights against the Alaska governor.

This is the latest conservative theory that the liberals brought down the McCain campaign because they were biased against Palin. Of course, Palin was a huge political surprise when it was announced she would be the GOP Vice presidential candidate. Little was known about her.

Once the media started to scrutinise her, it was clear she did not have the right stuff to be the VP. She flubbed a softball interview with Katie Couric and started squabbling with McCain election team. Americans found out about her lavish spending for clothing, the Wasilla Hill Billies, and that she was a diva who did not play well with others.

Clearly Palin was not ready for the national spot light. She was a Hail Mary play that quickly went awry. The Republicans only have themselves to blame for the Palin fiasco!

This weekend at the Western Conservative Political Action Conference (WCPAC), Ziegler went after a well known conservative: David Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union. In the end, the documentarian gets cursed at and kicked out of the conference. In response he's put video of the entire encounter on Mediaite.

Ziegler was after Keene for criticizing Palin and he also attacked the conservative leader for supporting Sen. Arlen Specter (pre-party switch) and reportedly trying to sell his group's support to FedEx.

The Specter related criticism is unfair because Ziegler no longer supports Specter and Specter was forced to switch parties if he wanted to be re-elected because he was facing a GOP primary challenge by the ultra-conservative Club for Growth. Specter is a true moderate who votes for the most part down the middle.

Keene initially agreed to a sit-down interview, but he tried to leave when the questions turned aggressive. After offering a few rebuttals he quickly gave up and resorted to name-calling. "I'm not gonna hit you, but I'd like to, because you deserve it," Before finally freeing himself of Ziegler, he added, "You're an asshole. You got that on the air? Asshole."

Keene says he would like to hit Ziegler at around 1:35 and calls him an "asshole" a little after the three minute mark. Watch:
