Gallup Poll explains Congressionial ratings

The ratings of the US Congress has remained between 31 and 39 per cent since President Obama was inaugurated. Conservatives suggest Nancy Pelosi and her Congress are unpopular. When you look a little deeper, you see the real story.

It's the independents and the Republicans are dragging the congressional ratings down. In the House, the only independents are the Blue Dog Democrats. This poll suggests the 'Blue Dogs' may want to reconsider their position on public health care.

In the Senate, there are only two moderate Republicans: Susan Collins and Olympia Snow of Maine. Arlen Specter was the other one until he became a Democrat.
