WASHINGTON — The Bush administration authorized secret surveillance activities that are still secret.
It's unclear what intelligence was yielded by the surveillance program started after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack.
President George W. Bush authorized other secret intelligence activities while he was launching the massive warrentless wiretapping program. The summary described the entire program as the "President's Surveillance Program."
It also says the intelligence agencies have continued to retain and use the information that was collected under the program. It use should be carefully monitored.
