Gawker and the Huffington Post do not have kind words for billionaire Jeff Greene who is running for the US Senate in Florida.

Green may sue the St. Petersburg Times for libel. 

Rightardia got a prerecorded call from Nancy Pelosi today endorsing Kendrick Meek for US Senate. Meek is Greene's opponent in the Democratic primary.

Rightardia endorses Kendric Meek for US Senator

Rightardia's staff met Kendrick Meek at the state Democratic convention in Orlando.

He is soft spoken and worked as a Florida highway patrolman. His opponent, Jeff Greene is a California transplant who has run for office as a Republican in the past.

Press on Meek's opponent is not so flattering. On July 23, 2010, the St Petersburg Times reported that Greene's yacht Summerwind had possibly caused damage to a coral reef off the coast of Belize when it attempted to drop anchor.

The alleged incident occurred in 2005 when Greene was not present on the vessel. The chief environmental officer of Belize's Department of the Environment informed the newspaper that a fine of up to $1.87 million could possibly have been levied over the incident 

If guilt had been determined. After speaking with the authorities and offering to pay any necessary fines, the crew was allowed to depart the country. Ultimately, there was no finding of fact against Greene or any member of his crew, no fines were levied and no fines went unpaid. 

The St. Petersburg Times also recently reported that Geene traveled to Cuba and broke the US embargo. He returned to his ship, the Summerwind, with a box of Cuban cigars. which is illegal in the US.

Apparently he has mistreated the crew members of the Summerwind and owes money to one of his former captains.That is hard to understand for man who is a billionaire and who also lives in south Florida.

Meek has the legislative experience in the Florida Statehouse and US Congress. 
A 'Johnny Come Lately" like Greene who was a former Republican leaves a big question mark in the mind of the Rightardia staffers.

Florida does not need to put another Ben Nelson (D-NB) in the US Senate. We need someone like Kendrick Meek who has solid Democratic credentials.

Could Greene be a Republican who is trying to hijack a Democratic primary?

Florida Senatorial candidate Jeff Greene visited Cuba in his yacht

Adam Lambert, who worked as captain of Greene's 145-foot yacht, Summerwind, said earlier this year.


He has total disregard for anybody else,'' chuckled Lambert, who said he was Greene's 20th and 22nd Summerwind captain (No. 21 quit after a few hours with Greene).


I don't think I ever once had an actual conversation with him. It was always, 'I should just get rid of you, what f------ good are you? You're just a f------ boat driver. You're the third-highest paid employee in my corporation and I should just get rid of you,' '' Lambert, 43, recalled by phone from a yacht in Croatia. It didn't bother me. I just felt sorry for the man. He doesn't seem very happy.

Harlan Hoffman, 37, was in a Fort Lauderdale yachting apparel store in 2007 when he saw a help wanted ad for Summerwind.

There were two people from Australia there who said, 'Oh, good luck with that one. . . . We're still waiting to get paid by Summerwind.' I should have listened, Hoffman said.


The deckhand was shocked while buffing Greene's yacht and wound up hospitalized.

A boat's owner is supposed to take care of on-the-job medical costs, but Hoffman said Greene -- whom he never met -- told the insurance company he had never heard of Hoffman and that he didn't work on Summerwind. It took eight months and legal action that included affidavits from other crew members vouching for Hoffman and trashing Greene to get his bills paid.

"This guy Jeff Greene threw tons of money into new diving gear, but the crew's basic equipment -- food and supplies -- he didn't want to spend any money on. Summerwind has a terrible reputation,'' Hoffman said.

Mr. Greene's yacht is known to be a party yacht. When it went to Cuba, everybody talked about the vomit caked all over the sides from all the partying going on.
