Mittens is stretching his credibility

Between 1999 and 2001, Mitt Romney, then the CEO of Bain Capital, signed at least six documents that the private equity firm filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The documents run in direct contradiction to a claim that Romney has made repeatedly: that he had nothing to do with Bain, and therefore no responsibility for Bain investments, during that period.
--Huffington Post

Mitt is also hinting he won't release any more of his tax returns.

Did Mittens commit a felony?

The Boston Globe editor Martin Baron emailed this note to Mitt Romney's communications director, Gail Gitcho:

Dear Ms. Gitcho:

We received your request late this afternoon for a correction regarding this morning’s Globe story. Having carefully reviewed that request, we see no basis for publishing a correction. The Globe story was entirely accurate.

The Globe story was based on government documents filed by Bain Capital itself. Those described Governor Romney as remaining at the helm of Bain Capital as its “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president” until 2002. The story also cited state financial disclosure forms filed by Romney that showed he earned income as a Bain “executive” in 2001 and 2002, separate from investment earnings.

The Globe story accurately described the contents of those documents.

The Globe story also gave a full account of the Romney campaign’s position that, notwithstanding several years of regulatory filings, Mitt Romney “retired from Bain Capital in 1999 … (and) has had no involvement in the management or investment activities of Bain Capital, or with any of its portfolio companies, since that time.” In your correction request, you reiterate points that are fully detailed in the Globe story.

Sincerely,

Martin Baron

Mittens explains Bain Capital

Corpartions are essentially amoral and most of them make decisions that are designed to maximize profits. Negative effects on people are secondary.

GST  Steel is one example of a Bain acquisition that was used for loan collateral so Bain could invest in other businesses.

When the loans got to an unmanageable level, Bain put CST into bankruptcy court. The federal government was forced to step in to bail out the pension fund.

Mitt Romney claimed he would be a job creator in 2002 when he ran for MA governor. When he left office, MA was ranked 47th in the nation for job creation.

WMR: Romney, Bain, and Company seen as behind China disruption operations

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his former colleagues at Bain Capital are seen by veteran China watchers as being behind a number of recent incidents in China designed to put political pressure on the Chinese government.

First, there was the abortive attempt by individuals connected to George Soros, the Rothschild financial family, and Bain Capital to insert disgraced former Chinese Communist Party boss in Chongqing, Bo Xilai, into the nine-member ruling Chinese Communist Party Politburo.

After Bo's police chief, Wang Lijun unsuccessfully sought political asylum in the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu and was then hastily removed by Chinese security police to Beijing.

Bo's international corporate attorney wife Gu Kailai, was placed under investigation by Beijing authorities for the poisoning British businessman Neil Heywood, thought to be a covert MI-6 agent operating under the cover of Hakluyt, a private intelligence firm.

Wang, who had information on Bo's and Gu's foreign financial ties, was turned away from the American consulate by Peter Haymond, a friend of fellow Mormon and former U.S. ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, Jr., a third cousin of Romney.

While posted to Beijing, Huntsman's three daughters reportedly dated Bo's playboy son, Bo Guagua, who was known for speeding around Beijing in his red Ferrari.

Bo Guagua is now in Romney's home state of Massachusetts, where he attends Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and, unlike his mother and father, is enjoying virtual political asylum and the protection in the United States government.

Bo Guagua's tuition at Harvard and, previously at Harrow and Oxford in Britain, is said to be subsidized by healthy grants from Soros/Rothschild- and Bain-connected foundations.

The tuition could not be paid for from the "official" salary of a Chinese Communist bureaucrat like his father but would be more likely the result of his mother's international corporate connections that include the Rothschilds and Soros.

Secondly and most recently, there is a Bain connection to the attempt by blind Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng to escape from house arrest at night to the relative safety of the U.S. embassy in Beijing.

Is Mittens a moderate?

Mitt Romney said during the primary in February:

I’m Severely Conservative, dammit!

Mitt is a Mormon from Utah, the most conservative state in the union. He was a vulture capitalist at Bain Capital, an industry not known for moderation.

His record at MA governor suggests the real Romney is very conservative. He vetoed 800 bills as the MA governor. Most of his vetoes were overturned.
