Cato Institute admits 40 per cent of funding from big oil

In a telling exchange with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria yesterday, polluter apologist Pat Michaels admitted that “40 percent” of his funding comes from the oil industry.

Michaels was introduced as “a scientist who now works for the Cato Institute.

The CATO Institute is a the libertarian think tank that strongly opposes caps to carbon dioxide,” has promoted global warming denial for decades.

It is funded by a network of oil and coal companies and their ideological allies. Michaels initially denied that he is funded by the petroleum industry, but backtracked under steady interrogation by Zakaria.

Evangelical caught in Cheetos Factory making religious icons

Frito Lay announced today that investigators had identified the man who
had been making religious icons from Cheetos and slipping them into
bags of Cheeto's. The man, Evan El Crisco was a devout evangelical who
believed he could spread the word of Christ by making Cheetos Milagros
(miracles).

He said he slips 20 to 30 of his Cheetos icons of Jesus into Cheetos
bags every day for the past six years and most people just eat them. But
every couple of months someone finds one. One man, a Methodist youth
minister, recently found the Lord in a 99 cent bag of Cheetos. The youth
minister said if you are looking for God, you can find him in different
places.He call this particular Cheeto he found, Cheesus.

Mr. El Crispo said it always makes his day when someone discovers one
of his Cheeto creations. A spokesman form Frito Lay say they have
suspended Mr. El Crisco for his actions.

A right wing organization, the Canto Institute, is defending Mr. El
Crisco saying the suspension violates his First Amendment religious
rights. “No one should be prevented form spreading the Gospel. “ said
Barry Bonekopf, the spokesman for the Canto Institute.
