WSJ: Fallout Over Missile Defense Scrapage 9/18/2009

Again, the Republicans see the glass half empty. The Russians are allowing US overflight to Afghanistan.  The Russians have also cut their tank order of battle from 20,000 to 2,000. The Russians also cut their reserve forces from 480,000 100,000. The Russian announcement was made before Obama stated that the AMDs would not be deployed to Poland or the Czech Republic.

Clearly the GOP has become the party of serial exaggeration. The Republicans hate to see a great enemy like Russia become an ally. What could be worse for the conservative defense business? It hard to justify a half a $ trillion annual defense budget when you don't have any enemies.
