I would agree that Southerners have taken over the GOP. In fact, I have posted that I would never vote for any politician from the South for president from either party because there too conservative and think they are still fighting the Civil War.
George W. Bush is a classic example of what I am talking about. He was completely out of touch with mainstream Americans.
