Upgrading XP Pro to Windows 7 is a nightmare

The fastest way to upgrade an enterprise network would be to backup all the data files on a desktop PC to a file server. Then the enterprise version of Norton Ghost or an equivalent product could be used to re-image all of the PCs in the network at once. This could be done over the weekend. Data files would have to be restored to the desktops after Window's 7 is installed.

I suspect some enterprising programmer will find a way to migrate XP Pro to Windows 7 with a special utility. Check out the video that Ed Bott provided on the Walt Mosberg solution to upgrade Window XP Pro to Windows 7.
