Liberals are more virile

If you have been following this the Rightardia FB page closely, you would probably guess there are many happy people with strong family ties on it.

Liberals tended to be sexually active longer than conservatives. The sexual lives of conservatives waned in their late 60s, while the most liberal of the men were sexually active well into their 80s. “I have consulted urologists about this,” Vaillant writes. “They have no idea why it might be so.” I imagine a few liberals would have a thing or two to offer that particular debate!

GW Bush will leave a black stain on American history

GW Bush on his presidency:

History will ultimately judge the decisions that were made for Iraq and I'm just not going to be around to see the final verdict.

In other words, I'll be dead.

In 2006, 744 professional historians surveyed by Siena College regarded Bush's presidency as follows:

Great: 2%;
Near Great: 5%;
Average: 11%; Below Average: 24%;
Failure: 58%.

Thomas Kelly, professor emeritus of American studies at Siena College, said

In this case, current public opinion polls actually seem to cut the President more slack than the experts do.

Rightardia suggests the higher public perception is related to partisan politics and the 47 per cent of Americans who usually vote Republican.

The Siena College outcome were similar to two informal surveys done by the History News Network in 2004 and 2008.[

Bush was later dismissive of the negative evaluations by historians.

GW Bush said:

to assume that historians can figure out the effect of the Bush administration before the Bush administration has ended is just ... in my mind ... not an accurate reflection upon how history works.

In 2010 Siena College poll conducted a of 238 Presidential scholars.

Bush was ranked 39th out of 43, with poor ratings in handling of the economy, communication, ability to compromise, foreign policy accomplishments and intelligence.

In Wikipedia's Historical rankings of Presidents of the United States, GW Bush was ranked in the bottom quarter of presidents in his last 5 ratings. His average rating including the two early surveys in his presidency was 31 of the 44 presidents.

Historians have already evaluated the GW bush presidency and that it is doubtful that time will improve his tarnished domestic and international image.

GW Bush is no Harry Truman, who had a sparkling intellect. Bush was a bumbler who constantly misspoke and a man who led America into two unjust and unfunded wars. He will leave a  black stain on American history.

The only math Republicans are good at . . .

In Marianna, dig for truth encounters desire to keep past buried | Tampa Bay Times

The conservative Panhandle town has a history of abusing boys in a reform school and racism. This is a town blue state visitors and Canadians should avoid. Come to Tampa Bay instead. Both Pinellas and Hillsborough counties are blue. Our counties do not have shameful pasts like Jackson County.

Study confirms why liberal men are so desirable

left: Tea Partier and dittohead  middle : plain old conservative right: ; liberal democrat

A study published by the National Institute of Sciences confirmed that American women prefer liberal Democrats because they have larger members than plain old conservatives and Tea Partiers

Tea Partiers and ditto heads had the smallest wee willy winkies of all.

Rush Limbaugh said the study was biased because there are few black men in the GOP.

The RNC immediately denounced the study and claimed the study was flawed because Democratic men are more "multi-cultural" and have a larger gay population.

"Lincoln" is now available on DVD

Rightardia got the movie from a dispenser like Red Box at the Palm Harbor library.

What a great movie  Of course, Stephan Spielberg was the director of the movie. Have never seen a bad Spielberg movie.

The movie addressed the last 4-5weeks before the Civil War ended  Lincoln had already signed the Emancipation Proclamation and union forces were using it as the legal basis for liberating slaves from plantations as as they swept through the south.

However, Lincoln was afraid the wartime Emancipation Proclamation might be thrown out by the courts after the war ended  so he wanted the 13th Amendment passed. The amendment had cleared the Senate  but stalled in the House because of a coalition of conservative Democrats and Republicans.

This conservative group had the standard conservative"sky is falling" warnings about change  What will happen to the Negroes after the war.? What if they vote? What if they intermarry?

The plantation owners of that time were equivalent to big family owned agribusinesses. Because labor costs were marginal, small farmers could not compete with the plantation owners. The plantation owners were the one per centers of the Civil War era.

The plantation owners were the one per cent of the civil war era.

While Lincon was politicking to get the amendment passed, a three person delegation form the confederacy including Alexander Stephans, the vice president of the confederacy, wanted to meet with Lincoln to work out a peace agreement.

On March 21, 1861, Stephens had given his Cornerstone Speech in Savannah, Georgia. He declared that slavery was the natural condition of blacks and the foundation of the Confederacy.

Stephens declared,

Our new Government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition.

Ulysses S. Grant knew to war was coming to the end and rebuffed the confederate delegation at Petersburg, VA.  They never got the meet Lincoln.

The remainder of the movie explained the gnarly politics of getting the 13th Amendment passed. Two scalawags were hired to offer patronage positions to politicians who were voting against the amendment. Eventually, there were 21 holdouts who were needed to get the amendment passed. It was clear these people were bribed for their vote.

Daniel Day Connor certainly deserved the Academy award for best Actor. He portrayed Lincoln as a low key sensitive president with a fierce resolve to end slavery.
Thaddeus Stevens

Tommy Lee Jones was excellent as Thaddeus Stevens, the leader of the radical Republcians. Stevens was s strong proponent of full equality for slaves.  Although Stevens never married, though there were rumors about his 23-year relationship with his widowed quadroon housekeeper, Lydia Hamilton Smith.

Lydia Hamilton Smith

A quadroon usually had one bi-racial parent and one that was caucasian. It is quaint term that is rarely used today.

This is a great movie for adults and children because their is so much misunderstanding about this war.

Many of the controversies about race relations are still on-going today. After Lincoln was assassinated, reconstruction stalled. Lincoln's vice president was a conservative Democrat, Andrew Johnson.

Johnson came to office as the Civil War concluded. The new president favored quick restoration of the seceded states to the Union. His plans did not give protection to the former slaves, and he came into conflict with the Republican-dominated Congress, that led to his impeachment by the House of Representatives. The first American president to be impeached, he was acquitted in the Senate by one vote.

WMR: Sanctions on Iran creating independent economy

March 28-31, 2013 --

A former high-level U.S. government official who has just returned from Iran reports to WMR that Western sanctions are having the opposite effect on Iran than what was expected. Instead of grounding Iran's economy to a halt, Western sanctions have provided an impetus for Iran to grow an indigenous and self-sustaining economy.

Our source reports that the skyline of the Tehran metropolis is marked by construction cranes. While some of these are inactive, it is clear that there is a building boom in Tehran.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MdUkd9HTB0U/USwXl0A44hI/AAAAAAAAFvU/uMkz52mpcJM/s1600/5esfand-m1.jpg
The multi-lane Imam Ali Expressway under construction in Tehran.

There are also huge expressway projects in downtown Tehran that include the construction of overpasses and tunnels.

Not only is Iran over 90 percent self-sufficient in food production, but it is manufacturing aircraft, ground vehicles, missiles, and critical oil and natural gas production equipment in the face of a technological blockade by the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, and the European Union.

The United States and the neo-conservatives also gave Iran a significant prize from the American invasion and occupation of Iraq. A pro-Iranian Shi'a-dominated government in Baghdad has been more than willing to help Iran evade sanctions, including those on the banking sector. In addition, Iraq's Kurdistan is not keen on applying sanctions on Iran, a nation that Iraqi Kurds have been trading with for centuries. Iraqi companies are more than willing to rebrand Iranian oil as Iraqi oil and ship it around the world in defiance of U.S. and U.N. sanctions. Although the Iraqis receive a handsome markup as intermediaries, the oil deals bring in much-needed foreign hard currency into Iran.

Iran can also easily get around sanctions through intermediary deals with Iranian-owned companies in Tajikistan, a primarily Shi'a former Soviet republic. Some are based in Iran, Malaysia, and Dubai with branches in Tajikistan.

Decades of crippling U.S. sanctions imposed on Cuba spurred that nation to develop its own health care industry, which is now rated as second-to-none in Latin America. Although Iran is exempt from sanctions on pharmaceuticals, the sanctions have had a negative effect. Like Cuba, Iran is beginning to invest in an indigenous medical research and care industry.

Meeting at the recent BRICS summit in Durban, the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa voiced their opposition to sanctions against Iran. The power of these emerging economic powers is becoming immune to the typical diplomatic pressure brought on the power centers of Washington, London, Brussels, Berlin, and Paris by the usual Israeli influence-peddling lobbies.

Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Energy Commission Massoud Mir-Kazzemi recently told the Fars News Agency that sanctions were not crippling Iran, emphasizing, "today we are witnessing that these sanctions not only failed to make the Iranian nation helpless, but also consolidated our will and determination to confront enemies' bullying approach."

Betty Bowers: The "Brutal Death of Our Savior" cookie recipe

 You will need:

1 cup whole pecans
A gallon jug of very inexpensive vinegar
3 egg whites
Lots of salt
1 cup sugar
Zipper baggie
splintery wooden spoon
tape
A KJV Bible (Do not substitute!)

Have your domestic help (preferably one that speaks some form of discernible English) preheat your custom-made, stainless, professional-quality oven to 300 degrees. If you don't have help, get some before continuing.

Place pecans in zipper baggie and let children beat them with the wooden spoon, screaming foul words of derision, to break pecans into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested, and before the bloodthirsty Jews killed him, Roman soldiers beat Him just like your appalingly vicious children are beating those helpless pecans. Read John 19:1-3.

Put 1 teaspoon of vinegar into mixing bowl. Let each child smell the inexpensive vinegar. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, and His mother was busy playing dice with the handsome Centurions, He was given vinegar to drink. If they dare to ask, "Well, why didn't He just turn it into a precocious chardonnay?" fill a plastic tumbler with vinegar and say, "Here's your chardonnay, you little smart aleck!" If they complain, ask them, "Do you, as a sinful little nobody, deserve better than Jesus, even if He was too big of a drama queen to miracle himself a simple glass of water?" Read John 19:28-30.

Add egg whites to vinegar. Tell the children that white was the color of Jesus’ skin -- and generally the best color to be (unless you are Mrs. Bowers’ shoes) when passing a police car. Explain that the meringue symbolizes the soft fluffy clouds in heaven that your children, as wretched sinners, have little chance of ever actually seeing. Read John 10:10-11.

Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Make them eat it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers (even though they cared about Him to a degree just shy of showing up), and the bitterness of the children's disgusting sins. Remind them just how impure they are and how undeserving they are of His love - or your cookies! Read Luke 23:27.

So far, the ingredients have not been very appetizing and the children may be feeling rather queasy. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that God loves us so much that He, via His son/self, killed Himself for us. Don't let them ask a lot of pesky, logic-obsessed follow-up questions as, frankly, this overly dramatic, unstable suicide thing all gets a little hard to explain -- just brandish the vinegar if things get tricky.Read Ps. 34:8 and John 3:16.

While bellowing Amazing Grace, beat with a mixer on high speed and fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. Remind them that if perfect Jesus was buried in a hole, they, as vile sinners, deserve to be thrown out into the road to be pecked to death by crows and run over by Minivans. Read Matt. 27:57-60.

Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF. Now is a good time to top-off your pitcher of Manhattans.

Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus's tomb was sealed, cutting off His last bit of oxygen so that He would have quickly suffocated. Like the Jews, they too are now responsible for killing Jesus. Tell them, "You just killed the Lord Jesus! I hope you're satisfied!" Read Matt. 27:65-66.

Send your children to bed, telling them they will be sad to be without the cookies, just as a handful of people in the Bible seemed to be gloomy to the point of almost showing it over being without Jesus, although most of His followers seemed shockingly nonchalant about the whole thing, apparently having previous engagements more important than attending His crucifixion.
After about an hour, it's probably time to add some Chivas Regal Royal Salute and a splash of vermouth to your pitcher of Manhattans, so do this and then open the oven. The cookies are wonderful with a few gulps of your heavenly elixir. Verily, you won’t stop until there is none left. Glory! (Oh, and eat the cookies, too!)

When your children come downstairs in the morning, they will discover that the oven door has been ripped open and all of the cookies have disappeared. Remind them that this is exactly what happened when Jesus’ followers returned to the tomb and found Him gone – only, after three days, that tomb probably didn’t smell as fragrant as your $3,000 oven.

If your spoiled children cry because they didn’t get any of the delicious cookies, simply remind them that they are worthless sinner who deserve to be tortured in Hell. Furthermore, since their sins killed the Lord Jesus, the last thing they deserve is treats! Ask them, "Would you expect Reese's Peanut Butter Cups if you killed the dog?"
