Politico: Team Romney knows it is losing

"“Their map has many more routes to victory,” said a top Republican official. Two officials intimately involved in the GOP campaign said Ohio leans clearly in Obama’s favor now, with a high single-digit edge, based on their internal tracking numbers of conservative groups. Romney can still win the presidency if he loses Ohio, but it’s extremely difficult."

Rightardia suggests that Mittens refusal to release his income tax filings started the decline.  The Republican National convention in Tampa didn't help. Obama got a nice bump, but Mittens pulled even at best in the popular vote.

Obama has maintained a 4 point lead since the Democratic convention according the the Gallup daily average.
